Welcome,

Whites Crossing Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company proudly protects 1025 people living in an area of 15 square miles with a total of 26 volunteer members. We operate out of 1 station on the north end of the Township with our sister company (Station 60) the Meredith Hose Co. stationed at the south end of the Township. Our company provides fire, rescue, search, traffic, wildland, and haz-mat response averaging 125 calls per year.

The Whites Crossing Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company is proud to be alive and well. After many years of dwindling interest, we are proud to be on the upswing once again. With a renewed interest of the existing members and the continued recruitment of new members, the future looks very promising for our community. We are also proud to have chartered and sponsored Troop 2001 of the Boy Scouts of America and Cub Scout Pack 35.

Our Mission,

The mission of the Whites Crossing Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company is to serve all who live and work in our community, as well as those that travel through Carbondale Township. In doing so we strive to make a meaningful contribution to the quality of life to those we serve.

As we endeavor to accomplish our mission, we acknowledge: The Whites Crossing Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company exists because of the Township we serve by the moral (recognition), monetary (donations), and physical (volunteers) support we receive. We are an organization of community-minded individuals committed to providing the best possible level of all services in a sensitive and positive manner to all, regardless of race, creed, or lifestyle. We recognize the value of human life and the dignity of all people; striving to assist those whom we come in contact with compassion and respect.

We recognize the importance of working together with our neighbors since it is not possible for one organization to provide all the necessary resources to protect all of the community’s assets. We will strive to foster a work environment which promotes trust, respect, and interpersonal support for all; both with the community we serve, and our neighboring communities and organizations. We are committed, in partnership with the people of Carbondale Township, to the creation of mutual respect and understanding which allows us to work together in preventing both physical and personal loss, therefore establishing a safe environment and high quality of life.

Our facilities, equipment, and apparatus are a symbol of public trust and we use these with great pride. With this in mind, we realize that it is incumbent upon each of us to adhere to higher ethical standards and to maintain the confidence of our community. Commitment, Respect, Integrity, Pride, and Cooperation are keywords that we as the members strive for each day as we carry out our call to duty.

This is the oath that we strive to live by and this document, like our organization is ever-changing, and will be reviewed every year by the members of our company.
